- A Tribute - One of the hardest things about
working puppy reports is trying to convey to the pet shop customer the types
of lives the parents of their puppy live. This tribute to the "breeding
stock" in commercial kennels will show you how these animals live.
Almost all of these images are from licensed, USDA facilities, most with no
violations on their USDA inspections. These are the conditions that most
Midwestern puppy mills keep their dogs and it is completely legal.

Blue Ribbon
Kennel - Missouri produces more puppies for pet shops than any other
state--in fact, they produce almost as many puppies as all the other states
combined. One of the reasons that Missouri puppy mills flourish is that
they are endorsed and promoted by the Missouri Department of Agriculture.
You can read all about the
Missouri Blue
Ribbon Kennel Program on the Missouri Department of Agriculture's website.
Now, an exclusive from PetShopPuppies, Inc., go inside a Missouri Blue Ribbon
Kennel, "Missouri's Elite Puppy Program," and see what it means to be the
best! Note: While we commend the Blue Ribbon Kennels for exceeding
industry standards, we still feel it is essential to inform the pet shop
customer of they types of lives these dogs live. The cages you will see
are the cage these animals live in their entire lives. Wire floors allow
the feces and urine to fall through the cage; automatic feeders allow food to
be given to dogs from the outside of the cage; automatic waterers also allow
the dogs to be watered from outside the cage, but they must lick a small ball
repeatedly to release one drop of water at a time. These standards of
care make it possible for a breeder to only touch or handle their dogs a few
times a year--when they vaccinate/deworm, when they are placing dogs together
for breeder, and when a female whelps puppies.

- Hundreds of thousands of dogs live on Midwestern Puppy
Farms; their only purpose in life is to breed and produce puppies for pet
stores around the world - mostly in the U.S. Midwestern dog auctions are
a way for puppy farmers to buy and sell their "breeding stock." This
rare and disturbing video shows you numerous dog auctions, where dogs are sold
like used cars and referred to as "Model Numbers" (year of birth). As
you watch this video, keep an eye on the dogs as they are lifted high in the
air, flipped over to show swollen vulvas and pregnant bellies, spun around for
the audience to see and bid, and barkers scream and point out the highest
bids; watch the dogs, watch how they have given up all hope in life -- they
have no fight left in them. They simply accept their fate in life.

- Georgia's Eyes - Genetics are a complicated
concept but one genetic abnormality involving several breeds is easily
prevented. Some breeds, such as Collies, Australian Shepherds, and
Dachshunds have a color pattern known as merle or dapple.
These dogs have a molted, swirl pattern and can be quite striking. But
when two merle/dapple dogs are bred together, they produce what is known as a
double dapple or double merle. Often, for reasons unknown, the offspring
are born with defects of the ears and eyes.
Deafness
and/or blindness is common. The founder of PetShopPuppies has one such
dog. She was rescued from a Missouri dog auction in 1999 and has been a
family pet every since then. Georgia is deaf. She is blind.
She has no eyes. In this touching video, Kim's granddaughter gives a
2-year-old's version of why Georgia has no eyes.

We will routinely upload more
videos to show you the truth behind that puppy in the pet
store window. The suffering the adult dogs endure
in USDA licensed kennels is beyond belief -- it's
barbaric! And yet, it is legal, it is licensed, and
it is the norm. These are not videos we have
conjured up or clips we picked through to show you the
worst of the worse; in fact, we have worked hard to show
you the norm and in most cases have removed the extreme
graphic images we see nearly on a daily basis in the
Midwest. You can see all of our videos on YouTube
